As I mentioned last Friday, I was flattered to be nominated for two awards last week. In that post I wrote about receiving the WordPress Family Award, and today I’m writing about the Versatile Blogger Award. I’ve noticed and liked this badge on other sites, and hoped that maybe someday someone would think I would be a good candidate for it. Well, Michele Anderson at Life is a Garden seems to think so, and I really appreciate it!
To actually earn the award, I’m supposed to write 7 things about myself (check) and then nominate 15 other bloggers (yikes!).
So here’s the first half:
1. I am utterly incapable of listening to “Take Five” only one time. Whenever I hear/play it, I must replay it at least 2 more times. I love playing it on my piano, even though I don’t do it justice.
2. Learning curves bring me unparalleled joy.
3. My favorite place in the world is my porch.

4. I have a huge extended family: My mom had 10 brothers and sisters, and my dad had 5. If my math is correct, I have 50 first cousins.

5. I’m a tree hugger. Literally.

6. Sometimes I notice how many freckles are on my face and hands and arms, and I’m shocked.
7. If there were contests for bed head, I could fill a trophy case.

Now for the hard part – nominating 15 other blogs. Since I’m such a blogging newbie, I figured I would cheat and nominate fewer blogs. Besides, these awards aren’t anything official, so who cares, right? Well, as I was searching for a few blogs to nominate (that I haven’t nominated for other awards – I don’t want to be a pain), I found the Versatile Blogger Award website, and they are adamant about the whole 15 nominee business in order to claim the award.
Fair enough. I’d like to post that cute badge on my sidebar, but instead I’ll feel better ending this post with an 8th item:
